He developed a special interest on the works of the Marquis de Sade and designed in 1969 a set of 25 lithographies named after him, through which he illustrated his own vision of the novel Les Crimes de l'Amour. The artwork to be auctioned by Subarna is one of the original gouache paintings of this series.
