Lot description

Made in the village of Moiá (Barcelona). Josep Senesteve i Berenguer established himself in Moià (Catalonia) circa 1757, and he was the founder of the most important clockmaker's workshop in Catalonia in the 18th century. More than 500 numbered and signed home clocks and belfry clocks are attributed to him. The last known number is 508.
 
Case in alba wood. With moulded applications and a later period pictorial layer. Brass mechanism and double numbering. Numbered "487".
With later restorations, reconstructions and repainting. The door of the case is missing one of the hinges.
Weights and pendulum are missing. It requires revision.
Key included.
