Lot description

Oil on canvas.
The work is signed and has a handwritten inscription: "al Angel Negre, regalo a la Junta para la restauración del mismo en 1892".
On the back, written on the stretcher: "Recobrado de la misma Junta por su donador por no haber ésta no cumplido su Alocucion, satisfaciendo en cambio el mencionado, 150 pts. junto con 1pta. de su 1ª cuota al Patronato de Pobres".
The canvas, on the back, has a newspaper clipping attached explaining the restoration of the sculpture of the black angel that crowns the tower of the church of Saint Anthony Abbot.
42 x 55 cm; 54 x 67 cm (frame).
